The Fishing Club was founded to bring students together through a shared love of nature and the outdoors while introducing the sport of fishing to those who have never experienced it before. More than just a recreational club, we focus on teaching fishing techniques, fostering environmental stewardship, and seeking volunteer opportunities to support our community and conservation efforts. Previous events hosted by the Fishing Club include Ice Fishing Trips, Saltwater Fishing, Conservation Service Projects, and Fish Trivia.

Fishing Club is partnered with a local chapter of Trout Unlimited. Trout Unlimited is a US non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation of freshwater streams, rivers, and associated upland habitats for trout, salmon, other aquatic species, and people.

Alpha Chi Nu is SMCC’s chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the leading International Honor Society for two year schools. Getting involved in our chapter is an opportunity to build leadership skills and find community among fellow scholars. We complete projects to better our community and continue to find ways to put our academic success to use in bettering the world around us. Meetings are open to all SMCC students! The Queer Alliance is a community of SMCC students working to create safe, inclusive, and empowering spaces for LGBTQIA+ people and their allies. We aim to celebrate Queer identity, promote education and awareness, and advocate for equity both on campus and beyond. Our meetings include open discussions, creative events, and community projects. Think art nights and visibility campaigns, or collaborative outreach with other student organizations, all with our LGBTQIA+ students and allies in mind!
